Witchy Waifu

This track isn’t anime-themed, but it comes from a really personal place. Spirituality has always been a big part of my life—crystals, tarot, astrology, frequencies, meditation, yoga, and yeah, a little witchcraft (only the light kind!). Over the summer, I had a pretty intense spiritual experience that inspired me to write lyrics for the first time on one of my own tracks. It was a little scary putting myself out there like that, but it felt so good to step out of my comfort zone.

The song itself is a mix of dreamy and heavy—there are ethereal vocals, but right before the drop, I had to throw in a little attitude with “It’s witch shit, bitch.” I wanted to blend melodic wubs with some nasty, high-energy bass, and I love how it turned out. Plus, this is my first track at a faster BPM, and I’ve been having a blast writing in that 160-175 range.

The album art also has its own bit of magic. I was doing a photo shoot for promo, shuffling my tarot deck, and I knew I wanted the Death card to be part of the artwork. I asked for it to come out, and on the third card that fell—it appeared. That moment just confirmed that everything about this track was meant to be.
